2008 Valdez ski update

2008 has been a challenging season in Valdez with a great deal of un-flyable weather preventing us from getting to the deep snow draping the Chugach. Despite our best efforts to "drink it blue" the Val-disease hangs thick in the air. However, when it goes blue, like it did the other day, it is always worth the wait.

Despite some touchy avalanche conditions in places, we were able to ski many big lines on Friday April 12, the first clear day after a week long storm. Overall the new snow was staying in place, though there were some small sensitive pockets out there. These pictures were taken on The Wall in nipple deep snow. Definitely worth the wait.
